  VeilMail: totally confidential electronic messaging.
  Friday, August 22, 2014
Six years in the development, VeilMail is a world first, totally private, 'no leaks, no fail, no trail' electronic messaging service. It's designed for organisations that require their confidential information to stay just that. Confidential. The Namery worked with Chalis Group to bring this revolutionary product to market, including brand strategy, name development, tagline and copywriting. The name not only needed to succinctly sum up what the product was about, but also to work on a global scale. VeilMail was the solution; a catchy, memorable and unexpected name that breaks the mould in a category full of 'high tech' names.
The Newspaper Ad of the Year Awards.
  Thursday, July 24, 2014
In between coming up with names, taglines and brand stories, The Namery has been assisting News Works with this year's advertising campaign for the Newspaper Ad of the Year and Agency League. The Ad of the Year competition offers a highly coveted $10,000 prize, so our DM, EDM and print ad concepts revolved around the combination of winning both cash and kudos. Looking forward to attending the Awards night on 2 October...
The Food Counsel...helping women feel better about food.

The Food Counsel is a fabulous and much-needed new business founded by highly experienced counsellor, Nicky Hollings. Nicky has long felt there was a need to help women from all walks of life who use food to 'feed their feelings'. The first two-day workshop kicks off in Auckland in September - search for The Food Counsel on Facebook for more details.
Minds for Minds campaign wins judges' hearts.
  Tuesday, March 11, 2014
The Namery just happened to attend the 2014 Axis Advertising Awards, where Whybin TBWA's brilliant, thought-provoking print campaign for Minds for Minds was recognised with a bronze award. A beautifully written campaign that poignantly juxtaposes how the mind of a child with autism works, versus the work New Zealand's top scientific minds are doing to unlock the genetic code to autism. While of course, winning a gong is inconsequential compared to the chance to help change lives, I'm feeling a little chuffed to have played a part in such fantastic work.
  Taking care of The Detail.
  Sunday, September 22, 2013

The Detail is a fantastic new service for contractors and recruitment agencies. As its name implies, The Detail literally takes care of all the paperwork for contractors and freelancers, expertly sweating the small stuff that contractors hate doing i.e. invoicing, tax and admin, thus freeing up more time to do what do best i.e. making money.

The beauty of this name is that it succinctly nails what the service is all about, giving Director, Kirsty Hunt, and her team an immediate advantage over the more 'corporate' identities of their competitors. The Namery assisted Chalis Group with the name, tagline and creating the friendly, helpful, yet detail-obsessed tone of voice.

  Great minds thinking alike.
  Tuesday, August 20, 2013

Launched on August 12th, Minds for Minds is an invaluble new research project that brings together some of New Zealand's top scientific minds. Their goal: to work together to unlock the gentic code for autism, a condition that affects one in 88 New Zealanders (and rising).

Ad agency, Whybin TBWA, was approached by the Autism Research Network of New Zealand to create a new  campaign to raise awareness, raise funds and encourage families with autistic children to get involved. The Namery was thrilled to play our part by creating an evocative yet descriptive name that succinctly sums the purpose of the organisation - to harness New Zealand's greatest scientific minds to unlock a cure for autism.

Out with the old. In with the ingenious.

Job hunting or head hunting? Get yourself listed now on the ingenious new job-matching website -

Set to revolutionise the recruitment industry, Snaffle uses proprietary algorythms to cleverly match job seekers with employers (much like a dating site). Founders, Carl and Amber McNulty, developed the idea when Carl noticed the frustration, time and money wasted by his previous employer in finding new staff and thought 'there must be a better way'. And now there is ... Snaffle matches jobs and job seekers fast and efficiently (often instantly), and at a fraction of the cost of the old ways of recruitment (and it's free for job seekers).

The Namery worked with Chalis Group and PhosphorEssence web company to launch the brand to market, including naming, ad concepts and copywriting across all media. Interestingly, several names were put forward, but Snaffle stood out as the most memorable, catchy name; a name that works as both a noun and a verb ... and a name that you'll likely to hear more often.

  Be cleansed. Be fabulous.
  Thursday, December 13, 2012

Check out this wonderful new product from Janine Tait, our very clever client at Bestow Beauty.

Be Cleansed is a natural detox powder designed to gently eliminate toxins from the body, resulting in clearer, more radiant skin. This isn't your usual hardcore detox product, it's a pleasant-tasting, easy way to keep things 'flowing' and your skin glowing.

If, like me, you've spent December and January imbibing vino and barbecue food, now's a great time to get started on one of Janine's detox programmes, or just incorporate it into your diet on a regular basis (no pun intended).

If you're quick to order some, you'll also get a free body brush, so check it out at Also available at selected beauty therapists.

Rebranding an institution, inch by inch.
  Friday, August 10, 2012

Recruitment company websites all look much the same, unless it's the stylish website of leading advertising and marketing recruitment firm, Marsden Inch. The challenge was to create a tone of voice which appealed to both corporate clients and creatives, and highlighted the fact that Marsden Inch knows the communications business better than anyone.

The new hub of all things news.
  Tuesday, April 05, 2016
The Namery was enlisted by super-strategist, Kate Smith, to work with the Mediaworks marketing team to create a name for their new, multi-channel, uber-newsroom. The name needed to be short, snappy, easy to get and to work across all media - hence, Newshub was the perfect solution.
Baby food that's as pure as ... well, a baby.
  Wednesday, March 22, 2017
Introducing one of my favourite names ... Born Pure, a new brand of baby food created for the Australian market. The Namery worked with the fabulous Lisa Cork of Fresh Produce Marketing and talented designer Denise Faraco to create this gorgeous new brand. As its name suggests, its baby food that starts pure using only fresh Australian ingredients and nothing artificial, and it's kept pure using innovative HPP technology, so it retains its natural colour, flavour and nutrients. Here's hoping it'll be sold in New Zealand as well!
